Andy Brassell speaking on Trans Euro Express (Talksport - very good programme) confirmed deal for Salajdzic closing in. Also confirmed what an excellent signing he will be.

No point in starting a new thread for the same topic (sorry for hijacking yours victory v)

Fabrizio Romano
“Wolves are prepared to bid again for Saša Kalajdžić this week after €15m proposal turned down. Stuttgart are prepared to sell but asking for €20/25m fee. It's still open. ?? #WWFC

Kalajdžić wants the move, personal terms won't be an issue.”

2.) 29 Aug 2022 08:26:00
Some saying this deal is close, some saying it's done, which is it?

3.) 29 Aug 2022 11:17:11
olves in talks with Stuttgart striker Kalajdzic
The representatives of Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic were at Molineux as Wolves drew 1-1 with Newcastle United.
Sky Sports News has been told they are now in discussions with Wolves officials over the transfer of the player. A deal has yet to be agreed between the clubs.
Wolves have had a bid worth £12.7m plus add-ons rejected. Stuttgart are thought to be looking for closer to £21m.
Personal terms are not expected to be a problem.
Kalajdzic was not in the squad for this afternoon's match at FC Koln after he asked to be left out.

4.) 29 Aug 2022 11:24:11
With our track record, believe it when I see it, Chelsea are also interested.

We need another also if we complete the deal.

5.) 29 Aug 2022 12:47:38
Kalajdzic is decent don't get me wrong but he's been injury prone in the past with ligament injuries just hope there done with we seem to have a lot here

6.) 29 Aug 2022 13:37:19
We are all holding our breath waiting for a new striker without understanding that any striker needs the right sort of service. Raul was presented with one chance yesterday which he put away albeit disallowed, and if a new striker gets the same service his goal tally will be roughly the same. It's the approach that needs to change to give any striker a chance of bagging some goals.

7.) 29 Aug 2022 14:07:14
Kalajdzic agreed deal to sign for wolves medical tomorrow

Seems like Hobbs had a shopping list for his South America trip. Now linked with Dario Osorio at Club Universidad in Chile. 18 years old winger/midfield. U23 squad

Can’t be that good of a player, they’re not even sending him to Grasshoppers (joking)

2.) 29 Jun 2022 13:40:58
I know it sounds ungrateful and could be even seen as sacrilege, by some, but I hope we don’t offer Moutinho a new deal. I think it would be a retrograde move.

Reasons: he was found out far too often last season and his capacity to influence games diminished significantly compared to previous campaigns.
I think he dictates the tempo at which we play and that is too slow and not incisive enough.
Players appear to defer to him on the pitch. He takes virtually all dead ball kicks but his delivery is an ‘old fashioned’, floated ball, which is easy to defend. Others can deliver the faster, lower trajectory which other teams use with great success.
The freeing up of his salary is not insignificant and although he won’t cost a transfer fee, as a free agent he can command a signing on fee.
I suppose all will be revealed on Friday. Would love it to be a Neves contract extension. Can but hope!
Think there will be some further outgoings over next couple of weeks to boost the transfer kitty. Hopefully, either well trailed or ‘out of the blue’ incomings, in the next few days.

3.) 29 Jun 2022 14:27:51
It's not ungrateful Wolfthistle, there's a natural end to every players ability to maintain their game past a certain age.
Like you, but with regret, I'd prefer new blood in this window as to go again with him may be the wrong decision and salary wise, a pricey one.
Not because I have any issues with Mouts he's been amazing for Wolves but more because it would signal the start of a much needed progressive rebuild.
But at the end of the day if Lage is happy, then who are we to argue?

4.) 29 Jun 2022 15:26:41
I don't think lage gets any great say on things other than picking the team.
I'd say transfers are beyond his pay grade.

5.) 29 Jun 2022 20:53:25
Now being reported by one of the online sites that we did not know anything about Dario Osorio, his trip to England is cancelled and it appears we woukdn't get a work permit anyway! Its concerning now. If we weren't linked to this player why would any journalist make up a story about us signing an unknown 18 year old from Chile? If we had made enquiries were we unaware we coukdn't get a work permit? Something doesn't seem right now!

6.) 02 Jul 2022 10:17:45
Moutinho maybe managing us one day

26 Jun 2022 09:16:21
Rumours picking up around Forest that they are going to land MGW. I guess that combined with the Traore fund that's our transfer fund if Neves stays.

victory v

1.) 26 Jun 2022 09:57:18
I accept that he wanted game time but there must be a reason why MGW was loaned out after spending most of the previous season on the bench, Some have mentioned an attitude problem but has he really proved himself to be Premier League level?
On paper he should be and some might feel that he's never really been given the chance with too few starts. Not sure myself, thoughts?

2.) 26 Jun 2022 10:50:49
Whilst MGW does possess some admirable skills his consistency isn't there and he can dissappear during a match, not what is required in a long prem season. If we can get a good price for him I would be inclined to sell.
No doubt this will come back to bite me at some point in the future.

3.) 26 Jun 2022 11:47:49
My thoughts are I haven't seen enough of MGW to suss one way or the other if he has what it takes to be premier league player quality.
He had his back injury when showing promise brief as it was, after that hasn't had long enough run of games.
His party scandal in lockdown clearly done Himself no favours with wolves but he young and can be forgiven if he learns from his mistake.
Only way to do that is to produce and be an asset for wolves.
He sold then good luck to him.

4.) 26 Jun 2022 12:04:57
Personally would have kept but pretty sure he will be sold this week bit of ITK Info on this one fee agreed up to MGW if he wants the move buying club very confident of concluding deal

5.) 26 Jun 2022 12:32:13
For me, MGW lacks a yard of pace to be really effective in the Premier League.

He's got good feet but hasn't got the pace to burst through from midfield from what I've seen at the top level. Just my observation.

6.) 26 Jun 2022 12:46:24
The fact only Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United want him (no disrespect to them) is very telling. I wouldn’t be too bothered about his covid folly, he’s young and made a mistake (everyone has done that, so lIve and let live).

I believe if a fee for £20m+ came in for MGW then sell
Him and l’d wish him all the best in his future. If he gets to the levels that were expected of him, I’d humbly say “fair play, Wolves dropped a bo**ock”

7.) 26 Jun 2022 16:27:43
Wolves continue to make weaker clubs stronger. Do people not realise that MGW has a successful track record playing under Cooper for England?
MGW is not my cup of tea tbh but this could be a move that comes back and bites hard

8.) 26 Jun 2022 18:03:56
Wolves said that they wanted to bring in young players withhigh potential but in order for that strategy to succeed the youngsters need to be given opportunity. Where has this been delivered, MGW? Connor Ronan? Sanderson? Hoever? Cutrone ( I accept he was a major mistake)? and what about Fabio Silva - will he turn out to be another big disaster? What does this say to Chinquino, Luke Cundle et al. I've missed a bundle of other opporunities. What is wrong with WW succession planning when there is no succession?

9.) 26 Jun 2022 23:51:14
I have to agree SQ, let's look at it a different way if MGW had come through at Champ club and we'd been tied to him after the season he just had would peeps not be excited by the prospect? I think the issue for me (and maybe for MGW) is how many chances the club have we given other more exspensive youngsters (cough, Fabio, cough:) and still we preserve with them. I have no problem with that by the way, as I'm one of the few that thinks Fabio may still come good however all should be equal. I think if we lose MGW we could end up regretting it, especially on the (increasingly small) chance we make Europe in the next 5 years!

10.) 27 Jun 2022 09:28:08
MGW should be given a chance. He's proved himself on loan and with England. I can't understand why we buy 'promising' young players if all we do is loan them out and, if they're lucky' they get to sit on the bench occasionally. We're going on about no signings, but maybe we have some perfectly good under 23s already. If we haven't, I'd like to know wtf they're playing at with the young players. Some of them not so young either.

07 Jan 2021 13:07:37
One of the rumour sites reckoning we are in talks with Arsenal for Nketiah. Seemed decent on loan at Leeds, but that was Championship. 5 goals in 20 games, don't think this will be taken forward as we now have two youngsters looking to get playing time.

Looks like a queue is forming for Gyokeres an Wolves name not being mentioned. Fulham, Palace, Sporting and Everton seem to be thr front runners.

Meanwhile asking price for Scott seems set at £25m and Garcia can look forward to a season in Europe if he stays at Ossasuna (depending on match fixing investigation by UEFA).

With the Neves story to be decided it looks like there will be a few twists in this transfer tail yet.

We’ve made an offer to Fleetwood Town for their 15 year old striker Reiss Bowen. One for the future.

2.) 10 Jun 2023 17:52:19
Luke Matheson was one for the future.

3.) 11 Jun 2023 05:54:23
There is a long, long list of players that didn't live up to their perceived potential. That's why it called potential, not a guarantee.

4.) 12 Jun 2023 07:30:13
Is fabio silva still one for the future?

22 Jul 2022 14:40:37
Great to see Ronan put in a good showing in the Battle of Levante. Maybe they're waiting to assess what we have before tackling the market.

Could be waiting to assess Corbeanu before committing to Osorio?

But we definitely need a striker.

Liverpool's involvement in Nunes deal feels like the intended plot all along with us just being used as bait. We should push hard for André Almeida now if Porto haven't already closed the deal. Then Yedder or Gabosa would be a good window.

victory v

1.) 22 Jul 2022 15:29:58
Well I don't think corbenau did anything to impress to be honest, relies on his left foot pull back to much and didn't really open up any space. Ronan looks very good and hodge very promising but given his age and build maybe abit premature? Cundle I think is the one ready. I'm a big fan of beuno, but again he's young and needs to beef up abit. But bruno being known for his trust in youth, plus our supposed financial situation he may persist. Chem Campbell is another who may break through. Personally I think some more loan spells beckon but who would we be left with? A striker is the main need as it stands in my book and I hope for an arrival soon. Let's see how we fare against besitak sat night.

2.) 22 Jul 2022 16:02:09
Just over 5 weeks till window shuts end of August.
Still.plenty time for signings.

There may well be snags holdups in deals already in the pipeline.

3.) 22 Jul 2022 16:44:32
Agreed Abbey/Phil plenty of time yet. A striker has to be THE priority. Still not sure if Jimenez is back to his best and for me the jury's out on Chem Campbell at a senior level, but I would love to be proved wrong.

4.) 22 Jul 2022 17:13:50
I expect so phil, just worried who we might lose in the merry go round tho. Time will tell but I think defence wise were OK. Mouts staying is the bonus midfield wise, then we have jiminez neto pods hwang traore (?) . Not overly concerned as it is, just hope we hang on to neves and mgw.

5.) 22 Jul 2022 17:31:28
One thing I have thought of and haven't seen it mentioned anywhere is there will be a month less till the January window due to season winter break for the world cup.
Thinking of an assurance if needed to make crucial critical signings in January or maybe we could recall Campana after he excels in the world cup or he could become a large saleable asset.
There many things that can happen for the good of all of us.
A lot more than the things that can happen for no good for all of us imo.

6.) 22 Jul 2022 17:39:14
A month less of playing time in the league.

7.) 22 Jul 2022 18:12:43
I'm doom laden, what if we lose RAN? He's been looking a key player of late and interest as been shown from lyon I believe. Its all ifs and what's, I suppose I'm nervous about it all. But I'm enjoying seeing it all again, the unknowing is part of it.

8.) 22 Jul 2022 18:47:39
There's a few Victor Meldrew's on here Abbey you're definitely not one of them lol.
2 weeks Tomorrow COYW.

9.) 22 Jul 2022 20:44:20
The missus disagrees phil. But I always look on the bright side. No matter what it'll be COYw til I die.

10.) 22 Jul 2022 21:33:37
Abbey, personally I can't see us losing RAN, MGW, Neves or Dendoncker.
Even if we do lose someone there's not much point getting down over it, unless it's Neves of course. Just because a club shows an interest in one of our players it doesn't mean they would sell them even with a decent offer like £25M for MGW.
More likely we'll have a couple of signings to look forward to, hopefully, one of them will be a useful striker. Definitely don't fall for the tedious negativity of some on here, life's too short.

11.) 22 Jul 2022 22:25:14
Agree about Corbeanu and I think that's the conclusion Bruno will make - back out on loan. Ronan seems to have done well and could well be added to squad. Cundle already in squad. Bueno I hoped to see more of and a little disappointed. Lembikisa did ok but don't think the young wing-backs are ready. Fullback cover in a back four could be Toti and Yerson. Likewise Chem Campbell's first touch and position looks like he's in need of a loan move. So really still a couple of players short for kick off.

12.) 23 Jul 2022 06:43:53
Longmyndwolf I hope your right, but as said we've got to accept what we've got, if that stays the way it is I'm optimistic we can do well, if it's lose one gain one fine. But as we've all seemed to say we actually need an addition or two to what we've got. Roll on 6 tonight.

13.) 23 Jul 2022 10:45:42
I have a great buzz reading Nathan Collins comments on his and the squads aspirations for this coming season.
The goose bumps are starting lol.

A new season new dreams its all there to play for to have an excellent season or for the non excited a season to be same old same old.

Quite right Victory. I have to admit to getting nervous and a bit twitchy about the lack of signings, but rarely has a player we've bought have they been mentioned. My only reservation is the lack of signings over the last year and a half.

3.) 02 Jul 2022 18:09:36
After the Jan` transfer window jeff said money was available but couldn`t get deals over the line.
Now it appears we have to sell before we can buy.
Where has the money gone Jeff?
Or were you telling porkies to the loyal fan base?

Just didn't want to come to a non UCL team. We have to get used to this as a response when trying to tempt top drawer players in their prime. No point bleating about "another one for U21 or Grasshoppers". Have a choice, younger players with potential or second drawer players.

Move for Cutrone dependent on Morelos leaving. Morelos is a devout Catholic. It's 16 years now Rangers made Paul Le Guen their first Catholic manager. Ot saying it's not an issue now, but it's nothing like the issue it was.

Absolutely awful news for Chiquinho. Given 200% in every minute he's been in a Wolves shirt this feels a terrible reward for his efforts, but hopefully young enough to make a full recovery. Would like to think it gives a chance to someone else, but other than Traore not sure who.
Feeling that the £44m paid for Kalvin Phillips shows what we should have been asking for Neves. But if we sold him not sure how we would have used the money.

Greyleg Wolf, I don't think the rest of the team will be too dismayed by these developments. Doc off to the Champions League finalists from a few years ago and Jota off to the Champions League winners of a couple of years ago. Both of them taking a good wedge of the transfer fee in their back pocket.

Give him two years and he would be way out of our price league. It is always a gamble - look at Lemar, a world cup winner that Athletico paid 57m for and can now be bought for 25m.

It's at times like this you have to trust the opinion of your club. They haven't got too much wrong so far!
