The managerial merry-go-round is in full swing right now.
How about our first Summer signing be Nuno for 5-years?

1.) 22 May 2018 13:00:45
A nice gesture, but didn't exactly work out for Pardew at Newcastle with his 10 year contract! I'm sure Nuno will get a massive pay-jump as an effect of promotion and should we develop next year he'll be rewarded handsomely.

It's always interesting to see the names that get bounded about.
I was wondering whether there was any strategy to the transfer targets / announcements based on attracting further players.
I. e. do they announce the major marque signing first, the guy that is going to be first choice, then attract the squad players - not too attractive to know you are going to be second or third choice.

Or, do they gather the squad players first - telling them they are a big part of the plans, to the end sign the marque player afterwards - leaving the squad players a bit miffed?
We will soon find out.

BTW - come on you Chiefs!

1.) 19 May 2018 20:06:12
No english players. not good enough.

2.) 19 May 2018 20:19:40
Tigers, Tigers, Tigers! Hahahaha.

3.) 19 May 2018 20:25:27
I don’t think any of us who post on here have any idea of the Wolves transfer strategy, only the board, and why would we? Like any business you would not show your cards before they need to be played and give your competition any advantage.
We can only speculate, but it is all a question of positioning, vision and ambition with the resources you have.
A lot of the names banded around has been mainly rumour and paper talk, there maybe some truth in certain players, but we don’t actually know.
But to answer your question, I would say that to we will only look at players who fit our style and will improve on what we have, and we’re not savvy or professional enough to comment on how these signing will be achieved
Personally I would wrap up the signings of Boly, N’Daye and Afobe first, focus on cover for Neves (Pele) then a marque striker, without busting the bank. Other positions to give the quality will follow when they can see there is ambition and intent to challenge for honours.
. I’m loving this 😋.

4.) 19 May 2018 21:52:44
without busting the bank. net profit last year 1.6 billion haha.

5.) 20 May 2018 05:39:45
Dappa, the net profit of the Fosun group has little impact upon what Wolves have in the way of funds available to spend. Fosun are an investment group, they will give Wolves a decent budget but not an extravagant budget. So yes, Wolves do have to consider quality and "not busting the bank" as Charlie Bear suggests.

24 Sep 2017 11:59:45
Am I right in thinking we are the second highest scorers in the league - and without a 'striker' too?
A few of the teams that we have played late will surprise quite a few this year, so out recent results are much more valuable than the actual performances. I think Bristol City will not be far away.
Keep it going Nuno, it feels fab to be a Wolves fan!

1.) 24 Sep 2017 18:14:23
We mustn't become complacent and think we can just turn up and turn teams over! We have to treat all teams with respect and assume they will beat us if we don't concentrate and presume we're going to lose if we don't. Just getting a bit worried that we will be stuffed soon if any of that attitude creeps into our game! Sheffield United are going to be a tough test and I wouldn't be surprised to see Clarke score against us.! ⚽️😉👍.

2.) 25 Sep 2017 17:35:01
Yes but Bristol City are the biggest scorers so guess which game helped put both teams up there!

3.) 25 Sep 2017 21:08:17
No they're not. Leeds are top scorers on 17. Us, Bristol city and hull have 15.

4.) 25 Sep 2017 21:36:31
Wolvescoast u for real . u always respect a team but never do u go on to the pitch thinking u are going to get beat .

5.) 26 Sep 2017 07:57:37
Wazza, of course you don't. However, I doubt Crystal Palace thought they would come away with a win. Even Woy Wogers, thought it was going to be a hard game for them. Roughly translated meaning they had little chance of getting anything from it! I suppose you could say he was being realistic. All I mean is we've done great and that will only continue if we don't become complacent and assume all we have to do is turn up! ⚽️😉👍.

6.) 26 Sep 2017 21:00:50
When had the manager said that wolvescoast
Only you have said, that plus your usual negetive comments.

7.) 27 Sep 2017 18:05:09
Seems like we're looking at someone to add to the forward line from the free agent market.

8.) 30 Sep 2017 19:21:50
Well done lads bring on the Villa can't wait I hope Terry is fit to play remember him kissing his premiership badge and laughing at the South Bank whilst playing for Chelsea you won't be laughing soon boy!

01 Apr 2017 22:07:44
I've been told that Michael Mancienne is seeking a move away from Forest.
He's being played at full-back and isn't too happy about it - or having to wait for his wages for most of the season.
May not be a bad Summer move?

1.) 02 Apr 2017 13:12:34
Macienne was originally with us. I'd rather go with someone from Portugal to be honest.

2.) 02 Apr 2017 19:19:35
I agree Wolves011. We should not be going back for old players. Eyes forward for new blood. Please no more talk of Sako, Mancienne, Afobe etc.

3.) 03 Apr 2017 08:56:36
I never rated him to be honest.

4.) 03 Apr 2017 19:55:34
Wolves011, Do you want to be more specific or is it just any random person from Portugal.

Thats equally as stupid as saying our recruitment policy should be to only sign ginger kids.

Bonkers comment.

I bumped into Gary Lineker at Waterloo last week and had a very brief chat about Wolves and Steve Bull.
I jokingly asked him if Bully would have bagged more than him if they had played the same number of England matches. Well, you would have thought I'd asked him to mug and old lady!
For what is worth, I think Bully could have done him easy.

15 Apr 2018 13:53:08
We need a chorus of "we'll meet again! " For the blue noses!

1.) 15 Apr 2018 14:14:28
Only in the FA cup or League cup! 😁.

10 Apr 2018 10:34:56
I hear that the Albion have had their application for terracing rejected by the local council.
A council spokesman has said it was rejected unanimously as it faced the pitch!

13 Jan 2018 20:12:07
Just watching the rugby on TV.
Swansea play at the same stadium as Ospreys, who are playing right now.
That pitch looks terrible - and they still have an hour of rugby to play!
Get your wellies on lads!

1.) 13 Jan 2018 23:15:00
Swansea play at the Liberty stadium, Ospreys play 3 miles from my Grandaughters house outside Llanelli.

2.) 14 Jan 2018 08:19:56
Sorry but the Ospreys DO play at the Liberty Stadium!

3.) 14 Jan 2018 11:20:36
You can see I know feck all about Rugby then, apologies and I stand corrected.

4.) 14 Jan 2018 12:00:56
They do play at Liberty stadium and lesser games in Bridgend.

08 Jan 2018 00:47:33
Can anyone remember the name of the guy that used to frequent the old South Bank (when we only had two sides) and he would 'book' and 'send off' the referee and linesmen?
We were talking about him on Saturday and no-one could remember his name.

1.) 08 Jan 2018 10:31:07
His name was Dicky Westwood, I can see him now on reserve match days dashing down the south bank steps waving a giant handkerchief shouting out ‘Corner ref’. On cup matches he wore a sting necklace of alternate black puddings and oranges aka wolves colours. At halftime he would chuck his cap down and play football with the lads. He was indeed a great character, many years ago I spoke to him at Wednesfield when he worked on the dustbins. There are no characters about now like Dicky god bless him.

2.) 08 Jan 2018 10:41:36
I remember Brian from an earlier era who used to stand by the scoreboard in the Waterloo Road stand and book the referee. He lived in Park Village somewhere I think.

3.) 08 Jan 2018 10:56:22
i remember in the 60-70's a chap on the North Bank (right side, half way up) doing the same. He also booked the ref himself. A fairly heavy and red faced chap. Same guy? He would have had a field day with the ref for the Swansea game.

4.) 08 Jan 2018 11:40:36
Yes I remember Brian used to stick his fingers up to passing cars as well always to wear a bobble hat. lol.

5.) 08 Jan 2018 21:35:49
Remember him well big bald guy in a gray mack.

Mutiny, we may get shot down for this, but I'm also on the camp that is questioning Costa's resilience to a PL campaign. He's been brilliant for us, magnificent before his injury but he does miss a lot of opportunities, chances that in the PL WILL need to be taken.
Squad player perhaps but we need better finishers.

Its hard at this stage to say exactly who will be coming.
However there is going to be a lot of off-loading - there always is for the newly promoted sides, even if it is loans.
It does show how far we have come though, when we can talk of such high calibre players.
I think one thing is for sure though under of new 'regime', there will be no signs of compassion to the squad players. If they do not cut it, then they will be gone.
I see Nuno as the kind of guy that knows what he wants and I see Fosun as the kind of organisation that will back their 'expert' if he continues to succeed.
If Neves stays (and I pray that he does) then with a few key additions there is no reason why the bulk of this squad could not succeed very well in the PL.
We have created hundreds of chances this season and probably taken a lower percentage of them than we would need to in the PL. For me that tells me that we are solid and creative, but we lack a couple of finishers.
The roller coaster of the transfer market begins already!
Proud to be a Wolves fan!

well, with the masterclass Nuno has pulled off in converting Coady to a rounded, influential sweeper, we could well fill a whole host of positions with squad members.
So, there's another question.
Who could be converted Coady-style to other positions in the team?

{Ed001's Note - how is it a masterclass in converting Coady? In Liverpool's youth teams he played there anyway. He played defence and midfield, but more often defence.}

It's laughable it really is.
In 16+17 season (latest figures available) Wolves were 12th in the table for fees paid to agents.
You guessed it, both Villa and Derby were above us (Villa paying way over £5m to our £1.2m) .

Points make prizes.
Still 7.5 points ahead of third with a game in hand with 11 games to go!
Come on boys!

Calm down everyone. Your blood pressure will be through the roof before the window opens!
20-1 at a bookie seeking punters money is hardly a slam-dunk is it?
Everyone, including the bookies, the press, and most people on here, are punching fog at the moment trying to hit a target. All to be able to say 'we told you first'!
If we have learnt anything over the past 18 months, it is Fosun do their work in the shadows, out of the limelight, and long may that last. UTW!

For me, I don't think they will chop and change that much - there is such a good feeling between this squad of players.
Yes there will be additions that offer strength and competition in areas, and there will be a group that are let go (sale or loan if cannot be sold) .
I reckon just four BIG signings in addition to Jota.

The wonder-goal apart, what is really impressive about Neves is his appetite for the ball and his judgement on his passes. I didn't see one wasted pass last night, not one. That's some going in a Championship match!
A nod too to the Jota goal. A fabulous pass by Boly and a brilliant, calm finish.
We made derby look like a B-team, and they are no B-team.
amazing team, amazing squad, amazing management!
