I haven't heard anything but wouldn't it be worth trying to take Robbie Keane until end of season and see how it goes?

Wolvesfc77

1.) 16 Jan 2017 09:47:02
Been linked to Preston on a short term deal.

2.) 16 Jan 2017 10:03:58
I know, but wages could be a problem there, just think could be worth a shout as we could do with someone who can score a few goals.

3.) 16 Jan 2017 10:42:11
I would have loved Robbie in a few years ago. But, at his age of 36 and recent seasons in the MLS (League One standard? ) it would be taking a risk to sign him now. If he was one big wages, but not scoring, it could upset the dressing room. Good luck to Robbie and Preston though.

4.) 16 Jan 2017 10:51:57
Keane would be awesome, you never know he did play with Lambert at Celtic and Lambert took him to Villa on loan so they know each other well enough, like everything with us will come down to wages though.

5.) 16 Jan 2017 12:19:28
Seen a romour were after Stephen Kingsley LB from swansea?
Don't know much about him?

6.) 16 Jan 2017 12:49:45
Wolves don't need another left back, and they don't need another right back, either. Doc/ Hause on the left and Coady/ Iorfa on the right are fine. Change for the sake of it again in the wrong areas.

7.) 16 Jan 2017 13:16:46
Agree, the focus has to be a new forward, masons goal on Saturday was the first goal from one of our forwards since August which is just embarrassing, Think Dicko proved again he's not a lone striker. Always played his best along side Afobe in my opinion.

8.) 16 Jan 2017 13:50:39
Totally agree with you, I think in every other position for now we are fine, I know we could maybe get a better CM or CB but we need a goal scorer

9.) 16 Jan 2017 14:10:27
oliver mcburnie of swansea would be a good choice for a striker played well against us last week scoring 2, not getting game time down here at the moment,

10.) 16 Jan 2017 14:13:15
Considering Marshall is just a carbon copy of Coady, I don't see the point. Coady is starting to make a terrific right back and probably crosses better, too.

One CH, MF and Striker would be fine. Nothing more, just 3 quality signings in the right places.

11.) 16 Jan 2017 16:18:25
Marshall is the replacement for Costa when he leaves he will probably start if a wingers gets injured. I think it's going to be interesting when Zyro comes back, whether he plays or not.

12.) 16 Jan 2017 17:25:48
Coady's pass to Costa for that goal must be the pass of the season! I'm not sure about Marshall either. Implies Coady might be receiving interest from elsewhere. Or it might be that £1.4m isn't a lot of money at this level and Lambert can get him to punch above his weight.

13.) 16 Jan 2017 18:24:17
Wolves011, please understand that Costa is a left winger and Marshall is a right back or right winger. Therefore, how in Gods name is he going to be Costa's replacement, lol?

14.) 16 Jan 2017 18:28:00
Marshall is no better than Coady, in my opinion. Unless Coady is going to Newcastle for £5m, I can't really see the point of this transfer.

15.) 16 Jan 2017 19:11:12
Wavid have to disagree regarding Costa's position. Although he seems to be almost equally comfortable on either his right or left side and he covers ground across the pitch, he has been playing wide right with Cav playing wide left. Zyro and Graham are both naturally left sided players so with Wallace being allowed to leave and no desire to bring Henry back we are short of cover on the right. Marshall prefers an attacking role. Whilst I would love Costa to be here next season we have to be realistic. He has already declared his desire to get back to Benfica and failing that Prem vultures will have noticed the quality.

16.) 16 Jan 2017 20:21:56
Well said Victory v and buy the way we have just beat vile after waiting over 30 yes at home have you all forgotten already and back on the moaning gravey train

17.) 16 Jan 2017 21:13:44
I know they switch but Zyro and Cav are mainly on the right. Costa/ Graham left.

18.) 16 Jan 2017 22:23:11
New to this site but had to comment on Costa's position. He has never lined up on the left for Wolves - despite him being predominantly left-footed. Jordon Graham is mainly right- footed but usually plays on the left - it's modern-day football innit?

19.) 16 Jan 2017 23:05:58
Where do you get your sense of humour from Wavidsmith? I see you have put Coady's price up from £4m to £5m. He is such a limited footballer that he is worth £3/ 4m tops although he is doing a half decent fill in job at right backind. He struggles to run with the ball, pretty basic for a footballer really . If you honestly think Newcastle are interested in him I'd suggest that you go on Ebay to shop for a new crystal ball. Benitez is astute not stupid!

20.) 17 Jan 2017 08:50:17
Newcastle want Coady. Don't ask me why. The price? Around the £4-£5m mark

21.) 17 Jan 2017 08:57:31
and besides which, Coady is a really versatile player.

22.) 17 Jan 2017 09:07:58
The only conclusion to be reached from the above is that Wavidsmith hasn't been to a game this season, or watched one on TV for that matter. Costa starts on the right every single game. Him and Cav switch for a max of 10/ 15 mins a game, and normally immediately following a Costa corner when he is out of position.

You're even wrong on Zyro, who started all of his Wolves appearances so far on the left or up top.

Going back to original point, I'd be surprised if there's anyone available who could replace what Costa has brought to the team. We therefore need to have options available, so Marshall seems like a good start to me.

I live in Bournemouth and a good friend of Callum Wilson has said Wolves had made enquiry to sign on loan, but also rumours Newcastle have come in so doubt it will happen now.

Wolvesfc77

1.) 01 Jan 2017 21:20:17
I like him but that won't happen.

2.) 02 Jan 2017 00:24:58
Really strong links to Newcastle, not us. But why do they news him with their squad? Hayle is walking it.

3.) 02 Jan 2017 00:25:09
*gayle.

4.) 02 Jan 2017 08:44:29
Because Newcastle want to dominate the league this year!
I agree Wilson will be perfect for us, but doubtful I'd rather play bodvarsson.

5.) 02 Jan 2017 09:12:37
Should of spent the money on him instead of Clarke in the first place when they were both at Coventry!

31 Jul 2016 19:32:34
From very reliable source within the club who has been pretty much spot on since all the takeover talk started. Talisca deal hit a major snag due to wage demands and wanting release clause in contract. Joel Campbell and Van Ginkel deal are utter rubbish, never going to happen. Been told a striker and defender will be signed by Tuesday latest, quite high profile names which will shock a few people, but my source won't give names.

Wolvesfc77

1.) 31 Jul 2016 19:49:07
How reliable is this source wolvesfc77?

2.) 31 Jul 2016 19:50:13
Apparently talisca deal still on his not know the squad again.

3.) 31 Jul 2016 20:05:21
Are these players foreign or British?

4.) 31 Jul 2016 20:06:51
Bamford and Van Ginkel Chelsea linked. Muriel, Sampdoria striker also linked.

5.) 31 Jul 2016 20:10:34
He is very reliable and knows slot of things before been made official, not just with Wolves but in general.

6.) 31 Jul 2016 20:46:38
Muriel is an amazing player.

7.) 31 Jul 2016 20:52:28
One is premier league based and the other is foreign.

8.) 31 Jul 2016 21:19:19
Which one is the striker? Prem or foreign?

Not a possible rumour, just wanted people's opinion. Seems like Dele Alli could be available on loan. With Nuno's record of improving players and Alli has been a class act but gone a bit downhill under Mourinho, wouldn't he be type of player that could work well for us behind Jimenez?

Wolvesfc77

1.) 27 Sep 2020 16:41:38
Academic I would think. Can't see Spurs letting him go to a Premier league team. Abroad if he goes nailed on I reckon. Not sure he'd work hard enough in a Nuno team anyway!

2.) 27 Sep 2020 18:21:19
Podence?

3.) 27 Sep 2020 21:06:29
Deli Alli come on
Come on guy Villa maybe Albion maybe disgusted by that.

24 Jul 2016 16:27:11
After ongoing talks today it is looking more likely they are going to Stick with Jackett as they had no back up plan and have been impressed with his vision for the club. Not what I want but seems that is how it could end up!

Wolvesfc77

1.) 24 Jul 2016 18:08:35
In fairness to KJ, he's never really been given decent money, and he sounded out afobe and zyro, so with funds might have better targets in mind.

2.) 24 Jul 2016 19:01:29
Jackett has had one poor season mainly because he lost Sako and Dicko and was given peanuts to buy cheaply, hoping they would turn out to be hidden gems. Mostly they didn't. I'm not saying he will take us to the upper reaches of the Premier League but he deserves a chance to at least get us there, with money to spend. Let's wait to see what comes out of the news conference tomorrow.

24 Jul 2016 11:40:03
I've never posted on here before as there is so much speculation, Talks with Jackett are ongoing, expected that he will leave in very near future, Bruce is been lined up and initial contact has been made, 3 to 4 signings also in pipeline and expect then to go through when Jackett situation is sorted.

Wolvesfc77

1.) 24 Jul 2016 13:47:02
Giggs is purely a big name and nothing else.

Would be great for the profile of the club at home and over seas but a big gamble in terms of wether or not he can actually do the job.

{Ed041's Note - I tjink Giggs would do well for you. He would install certain standards to keep up imo.

2.) 24 Jul 2016 14:41:48
Ed041 u referred to our club as 'you' does this mean your not wolves? No wonder there is so much nonsense on here u at probably a boggle from Sandwell.

{Ed041's Note - what? No I'm not a wolves fan. Editors edit many pages. I post what is written.

3.) 24 Jul 2016 14:48:05
This just nullifies the authenticity of the page, I didn't believe anything on here before but this has just compounded it.

{Ed001's Note - really? You are a bitter child, go away.}

4.) 24 Jul 2016 18:55:10
What the hell! Ed 001 you ain't a Wolves supporter yet you edit these pages lol any chance you can do one and get us a wolves supporting editor on here instead of one who is possibly
A, a Sandwell Town boggy boy,
B, A Villa Jambo or
C, A Brummy WERNIT!
Which is it?

5.) 24 Jul 2016 18:58:08
It states who on my profile, it doesn't take much to look. You need to grow up.

6.) 24 Jul 2016 19:06:53
O M G!
You're Morgan in disguise having a laugh at Wolves expense .
The Return Of The Scouse Scally or as Alf Used To Put It So Politely
Bloody Useless Scouse Git!

{Ed001's Note - yes because Steve Morgan spends his time on websites talking about Wolves....}

7.) 24 Jul 2016 19:18:16
lol yo ay half funny Ed mind yo the whole of scouseland is med up of bloody comedians ay it! never mind, the rumour going round is that Morgan is about to offer to buy anfield and turn it into a redrow housing estate and that dump across the park is going to be bought up by Tarmac to mek it the biggest car park in the north west lol.

{Ed001's Note - Morgan couldn't afford Anfield, that has been his issue with Wolves, he can't afford it. Football is a billionaire's game and he is a millionaire.}

8.) 24 Jul 2016 19:19:12
More importantly,
WE AM WOLVES AY WE!

9.) 24 Jul 2016 19:42:00
Yo've gorra loff ay ya thanks for the banter Ed001 lol.

{Ed001's Note - it turns out we had a lucky escape him not being able to afford us, as it is clear he doesn't know as much about running a football club as he thought.}

10.) 24 Jul 2016 19:51:11
lol bloody good job you never had the fat pie muncher as C E O lol.

{Ed001's Note - we did have a similar guy in Prick Parry running the club at one time.}

11.) 24 Jul 2016 20:12:38
yeh I remember that useless nerk lol, mind you I must say this,
Delia and Norwich beware Moxey's coming for ya and god help em because this time next year they'll be league 1 with our beloved Jezza in charge lol.

I find it amusing that a Villa fan has to come onto this page to try and gloat, especially so early on in the season. We have sold a couple of good players but what we have bought in is for now but also definitely for the future. No team will become a top 6 team without building for future. And at the end of the day we are still on same points as Man Utd and Man City and 5 points off the top of the league. I am more than happy with that. As for Villa good luck to them but we all know they are just as likely to lose 4/ 5 games in a row and start dropping down the table sooner or later.

I totally agree Phil, maybe one more incoming at most I guess. I believe under Nuno in a year from now he will be the best signing we have made and best full back around.

Don’t normally comment but pretty sure this name has been plucked out the air as every other post I’ve read from Wozza about signings have already been on Twitter or else where before he mentions them. Anyway each to there own.

Hmmmmm, one win and they start to crawl out, we have played 7 competitive games, won 5 drawn 2 this season, Villa played 3 won 1 and lost 2 and all of a sudden its mind the gap. I think anyone who knows anything about football will know where the gap will be between Wolves and Villa come the end of the season.

I actually have to agree with you. I think the couple of first team players are good squad players but without improving our best 11. We had the perfect chance to attract players required to improve on last season giving that we could offer European football. I can’t see the squad we being able to cope with all the Europa League games should we continue through qualifying rounds and to improve on the points tally we got last season. Unless there is a change in tactics against the lower premier league teams I can see us having ups and downs against those teams as last season and as most of the teams in top six have improved there squads we may struggle to do as well as we did against them last season. I am still proud of how far we have came and can’t believe the quality we have compared to 2 years ago but still feels like a missed opportunity.
