Ait Nouri done deal.

TettenhallToad

1.) 04 Oct 2020 20:09:37
The YouTubes can make a crap player look good/ great but Rayan Ait Nouri seems to have a very good defensive side to his game (excellent at going forward and not Afros to take on a man) . This is what Ruben Vinagre was lacking (sadly) I have nothing but good wishes for RV in his loan move to Olympiacos or wherever he ends up.

As an FYI the only time I’ve witnessed the YouTubes making a bad player look bad was Rajiv van La Parra.

2.) 04 Oct 2020 22:21:55
Watching him against PSG on friday. You could tell he was a player!

Bags of confidence on the ball. Very neat and tidy but has a nice flair about him. Good at quick interplay pass and move.

Defensively I think it's going to be a step up. As far as prospects go it's a no brainer, ability wise I think we will see a big difference from Vinagre.

But early days! And it's an option not obligation to buy.

3.) 04 Oct 2020 22:53:04
Van La Parra was hardly bad, Debbie. Did you ever see Ray Hankin play for us?

Wolves get extra 5 mill each from sales of Cav and Costa, on top of the initial fees, due to both clubs promotions. Brilliant business!

TettenhallToad

1.) 17 Aug 2020 12:47:59
Great business. We've done well financially in moving on players who are not quite up to the standard we aspire to. Barry Douglas and Benik Afobe were also moved on for other reasons and we also did OK financially. Ryan Bennett was signed on a free originally. I hear we're looking for £3 mil for him. All this adds up and helps with FFP. Bit by bit we are upgrading the first team squad and building a war chest to buy the players we need.

2.) 17 Aug 2020 14:46:00
Sounds good given recent FFP restrictions.

22 Jul 2020 23:39:01
Chinese TV has ceased broadcasting all Premier league games over growing political tensions between China and the UK. This could have serious implications for us.

TettenhallToad

1.) 23 Jul 2020 08:29:35
Tensions have been building for a while. Let's just hope it's small ripple effects as oppose to big waves.

As a current investment Wolves is bankable and on upward trend. can't see someone like Fosun wanting to put that at risk.

2.) 23 Jul 2020 10:43:55
I've been saying for a while the Fosun situation is tenuous. Too many things up in the air at the mome I warned yesterday that we cannot allow Villa and Albion to catch us up.

3.) 23 Jul 2020 10:51:59
If you are right about current tensions between UK and China, Baggies will be affected as well as they too have Chinese owners.

4.) 23 Jul 2020 11:12:01
All i'm seeing is one guy on Twitter saying it not even a verified account, I do have a friend in Shanghai though who did confirm the Liverpool match was not shown on CCTV last night.

5.) 23 Jul 2020 16:43:49
Baggies and Villa catching us up. be lucky to barely stay in the league. Both have a couple (at most) of stand out players. We have a squad full.

Should be least of your worries.

6.) 23 Jul 2020 17:15:50
Villa have power to invest not sure about situation at Albion.

7.) 23 Jul 2020 18:17:53
If they keep buying Tools from teams like Blues. Villa are so lucky if they stay up.

They basically did a Fulham and might have just about got away with it. Fair enough that Douglas Luiz
Looks a decent buy. spent 100 odd million. how many of there players they going to make decent returns on realistically. The gulf between us in quality has never been wider.

8.) 23 Jul 2020 19:01:17
SQ, FFP is still in play albeit with slightly relaxed rules so they have to spend accordingly. Fosun are worth £102b but as a club, we can't spend it as all clubs can only spend 90% of their individual income. Any losses can only occur if the owners can cover them up to a maximum of £39m over rolling 3 year period.

9.) 24 Jul 2020 20:02:29
Thanks Jas, good realism. The choice for a player is the 'feel' and intent of a club and its setup. Dr Nuno, Geoff, and the team have built something which is very attractive.

29 Jan 2020 22:40:55
I'm happy to say I was wrong. Podence deal done and dusted. Signing autographs at Compton Park this afternoon. And Jordao MOTM v Liverpool u23's tonight. And scored a corker. Like a new signing. Happy dayd!

1.) 30 Jan 2020 02:01:36
Fair dues Tetenall Toad 👍🏿.

2.) 30 Jan 2020 05:30:30
Top bloke TettenhallToad.
I didn't realise you got it wrong but holding your hands up is proper fine of ya. Be good if SQ and others who I do know got things wrong did the same. Yes my fellow wolf happy days
FWAW.

3.) 30 Jan 2020 09:34:01
Is he eligible for the Europa league as he played in the champions league this season?

4.) 30 Jan 2020 09:57:03
I think he is as the rules were changed.

5.) 30 Jan 2020 10:49:17
Well done Tettenhall. Would be nice if some of the usual suspects admitted being wrong as well.

6.) 30 Jan 2020 13:43:27
Respect to you Tettenhall mate.

7.) 30 Jan 2020 19:11:13
Herd that Podence is on his way to stoke for £19m 🤣.

27 Jan 2020 12:51:58
Just as I feared, and posted yesterday, Podence deal is off.

TettenhallToad

1.) 27 Jan 2020 13:16:47
That is not confirmed from anything I have seen?

Unless you have a concrete source on that.

The deal is still being ironed out. Is all I'm taking from this last 24 hours. Nothing is dead yet.

2.) 27 Jan 2020 13:55:31
No concrete source but you could see how it was going with how Wolves operate. We either sign players completely out of the blue or if a big signing is 'leaked' it gets done and confirmed almost immediately. Nothing that's in the public domain and then drags on and on never gets over the line.

3.) 27 Jan 2020 14:19:15
The Neves and the Troare deals both surfaced weeks before they completed and also both dragged on until virtually the end of the window so not sure that's always the case?!

4.) 27 Jan 2020 14:27:25
Copied from Twitter:

@TimSpiers
I'm told Wolves are hoping to wrap up the permanent signing of Daniel Podence tomorrow. Final details being ironed out and he's been left out of the Olympiakos squad today #WWFC @TheAthleticUK.

5.) 27 Jan 2020 14:45:26
that was yesterday mate, he's updated it in the last half hour, still on apparently.

6.) 27 Jan 2020 14:49:52
That was yesterday. He is not signing today. He is still in Greece!

7.) 27 Jan 2020 15:02:51
How can you just say 'deal is off' without having any source of information? Deal is done, trust me. It will be confirmed this week. Let's just have patience. My source is Tim Spiers and the I work in Compton so I speak to people about these things.

8.) 27 Jan 2020 15:46:24
Regarding Daniel Podence - I'm told the deal is still on. As per the below tweet, contract details are thought to be the hold up

@TheAthleticUK

#WWFC

From Spiers an hour ago.

9.) 27 Jan 2020 19:12:04
People have very short memories. We now look back on landmark signings such as Neves, Boly, Patricio, Jimenez etc., and think they were got over the line in no time at all. That's simply not the case. There is no difference with today's prospective signings; they may take time, they may feel frustrating. They may give fake fans the
ammunition to say Fosun have lost interest. Genuine fans understand.

We are light years ahead of that sorry era when our striker signings were Grant Holt, Leon Clarke etc.

10.) 27 Jan 2020 22:17:38
So true Deep, Traore took two windows to get over the line if the club had listened to some on here they would have either just thrown double the wages at him or worst 'moved on to bigger names' either of those choices would have been detrimental to the balance of the current team! that's the frustrating part the signings so far have been fantastic yet people still like to talk about the owners like they don't have a clue what they are doing! COYW.

I will make a very brief return to this site. Just want to say how gutted I am that Nuno has gone. I know I was critical of him for the FA Cup debacle, but you don't realise what you have til it's gone. I have had some of the most amazing days in Molineux in the last 4 years as much as I have in the previous 50! . i'm sure most of you feel the same. Good luck to him, I think he needs to go home, he has looked very tortured recently. Build a statue now!

TettenhallToad

1.) 21 May 2021 17:52:58
Welcome back Tettenhall but you don’t get a statue for being promoted from the championship with champions league players Jota, Neves, Boly etc and then finishing seventh twice and then avoiding relegation. If we had won the FA Cup and got back in to Europe then a statue may have been appropriate.

2.) 21 May 2021 18:53:57
E from Wombourn for what nuno did for the club and what he did for the community justifies recognition. A statue maybe a bit too far but some gates or something surely is deserved, his legacy should not be forgotten.

We fickle folk need reminders and if nothing else he epitomised the 'pack' unity and spirit. He's a friend to the club and city, he should never go unrecognised.

3.) 21 May 2021 19:53:55
We tried a few managers before Nuno but he was the one that got us promoted and into Europe

And we did well in Europe

Nearly did it again last season

This season not so good but only a few points behind and with injuries and no fans

I hope Nuno goes on to success at his next club.

4.) 21 May 2021 20:03:52
Agreed Abbeywolf. Never questioned Nuno’s integrity and he is a great guy. He hasn’t been the same at all this season and I think the injury to Raul affected Nuno more than we knew.

5.) 21 May 2021 21:27:29
Is he really going to end up at spurs,?

26 Feb 2021 21:46:40
Brilliant article about Graham Hughes, who has sadly passed away, on the Wolves website. If you knew very little about him, like me, it's a great insight into a behind the scenes Wolves employee, but more than that, an unbelievable fan, who loved his work. RIP.

TettenhallToad

20 Feb 2021 20:12:51
And still there are people on here counting the points until we are "safe"! We are only 2 pts behind where we were at this point last season! . Relegation was NEVER going to happen, and I apologise if some of my posts criticising Nuno for giving up on the FA Cup didn't go down well with some. ( I still stick by that, but maybe saying " I will never forgive him" was a bit outrageous. It's just passion!

TettenhallToad

1.) 20 Feb 2021 22:32:54
TT mate I cussed Nuno too it was out of anger and passion, everyone on here loves the club and sometimes our emotions get the better of us.

2.) 21 Feb 2021 20:47:54
It was a bit of a shock the fa cup team, some of us (me anyway) may not have the chance to see a wolves cup final again and to chuck this chance up was annoying to say the least. I was very angry at the time and most prob over reacted. But as rated says we love our team and I have every trust in Nuno, he looked forlorn and the relief when we beat saints away so evident. So its all history now and we can just about with abit of luck and sprig of lucky Heather get a euro place again. Now that would be something.

3.) 21 Feb 2021 21:09:55
Abbey - great post - hit it on the nail.

14 Feb 2021 14:00:54
Well lovely to get a win, and a meaningless 3 pts, but I would rather be looking forward to a FA Cup QF v Bournemouth. Nuno let the proper fans down on Thirsday.

TettenhallToad

1.) 14 Feb 2021 14:17:54
Tettenhall you talk some rubbish, the 3 points today were needed badly. The cup has gone get over it.

2.) 14 Feb 2021 14:31:26
Well said Syd, we definitely needed those points!

3.) 14 Feb 2021 14:38:31
Tettenhall there are no meaningless points in this league, I seriously question some the logic of some posts on here.

4.) 14 Feb 2021 14:43:47
Yes, that's my point. The Cup has gone but didn't need to be gone! Today made Thursday even harder to take. We were never going to be relegated, so who is going to be excited about whether we finish 10th, 12th or 15th? Ask yourself this, after the dust has settled on the two games, whose fans are going to be happier?

5.) 14 Feb 2021 15:04:08
I think the logic is fairly simple, we had two trophies we could have realistically competed in this season and we checked out of both! Let's wait and see where we end up shall we before we decide what points matter and which don't. If today's result is the difference between finishing 12th or 13th then like Tett I'd sooner see us competing for trophies! I'm still pleased for Nuno that he got the result today cause after the last week he needed it! However, I don't think fans should be expected to apologise for wanting us to show some ambition! I love the Prem but only one of four teams are ever likely to win it and with that in mind we have to take cups seriously if we ever want to achieve anything beyond survival.

6.) 14 Feb 2021 15:28:21
TettenhallToad
Let it go.
Winning on Thurs didn't actually mean we'd won the cup. Every premier league game is like, or should be like a cup final.
3 points closer to safety and a springboard to a strong end to the season, hopefully.

7.) 14 Feb 2021 16:20:10
3 points is 3 points end of the day it's 3 points closer to safety.

8.) 14 Feb 2021 16:56:12
Although we aĺl would like to see some silverware let's keep in mind many of the league positions are worth more money than winning the cup so 3 points and 1 extra place up the league could be worth an extra 2 million or 2 places 4 million compared to the 1.8 million for winning the cup. You can bet Fosun have set priorities.

9.) 14 Feb 2021 17:00:50
Losing the cup game does not mean we were going to win ot does it? I'd love to win every game, but that's not the case, the 3 points today were very important, its 3 point nearer safety, and dare I say a run at top 7, anyone on their day can put a run of 5 or 6 games and it changes everything, not saying we will, but every point is important.

13 Feb 2021 20:41:13
Two days after the Cup debacle, and emotions running high. I still can't get over it and forgive Nuno. He is clearly out of touch with how our fans feel about the F A Cup. Tomorrow was never going to be a "must win" match before, but it is now for him.

TettenhallToad

1.) 13 Feb 2021 21:28:18
I can take us losing but not even trying is what angered me imo the players shouldn't get paid or Nuno for the week as they never turned up.

2.) 14 Feb 2021 06:47:35
If Adama plays down the left then he would naturally gravitate towards the penalty area/ goal, instead of the corner flag! Just a thought. FWAW.

3.) 14 Feb 2021 12:55:43
16 hours without a goal before our cup game, I wonder were Ings has suddenly found his confidence from?! Fuming 😡.

There is Zero chance of us being relegated, when we put our best team out, but there was a decent chance of us winning the FA Cup, especially given the next round draw. Tonight was a disaster on so many fronts.

Agree Golden Boy, what the f**k was Nuno thinking? Saving players for Sunday and a game that doesn't matter? MGW and Silva should never play for us again but it took him an hour to see the bleedin' obvious! And please don't sign Vitinha. He will be the next Vinagre, as in a fantastic prospect who never makes the grade.
