No Podence or Dendoncker in the squad? Assuming injuries or illness but that's been kept quiet.

Dendoncker has a virus and Podence us out with a foot injury.

Jonny's permanent signing confirmed on the official Wolves site.

Reading links to us registering an interest in Charlie Austin. Interesting one if he can stay fit - he would offer us a different dimension.

StattoWolf II

1.) 26 Jan 2019 14:11:20
If he's not good enough for Southampton, how is he good enough for us? Besides, he's never far away from a red card.

2.) 26 Jan 2019 17:32:40
“If he’s not good enough for (Insert team name) he’s not good enough for us” what a ridiculous statement. Raul Jimenez didn’t seem good enough for Benfica. Jota didn’t seem good enough for Porto. Ruddy didn’t seem good enough for Norwich. Bennett didn’t seem good enough for Norwich. Coady didn’t seem good enough for Huddersfield or Wolves at one point. Boly didn’t seem good enough for Porto. Bully didn’t seem good enough for WBA. Charlie Austin is a finisher. Given the chance he can score, I’d take him as back up to Jimenez. He’s not a fancy name but would 100% make us strong in depth, where as Bonatini surely doesn’t.

3.) 26 Jan 2019 21:48:34
Yes Stuu! This man talks sense.

4.) 27 Jan 2019 13:17:20
Whilst Austin wouldn’t be a signing to fill me with joy it is true that Nuno might be able to elicit some better times from him until the end of this season at least and until we sign better in the Summer. What is undeniable is that he would definitely be an upgrade on Bonatini- then again so would most strikers - and unquestionably we do need another central striker as back up/ competition to Jiminez.

OODCL.

5.) 27 Jan 2019 14:18:36
Yesterdays match proved the need for another striker is a big priority.

6.) 27 Jan 2019 19:52:41
We do need another striker without doubt proved that Saturday, Nuno will sort it out, just glad We are still in cup because with the luck we had on Saturday could go a long way.

11 Jan 2019 23:48:55
Sky Sports preview of the City match includes this: "Diogo Jota may lose his place to Ivan Cavaleiro after a below par return against the Reds. " What game were they watching?!

StattoWolf II

1.) 12 Jan 2019 10:00:38
Jota offers us something different in that he runs directly at defenders with the ball where as Cavaleiro will try to run around the defender taking the ball past them. Both are effective.

2.) 12 Jan 2019 14:10:32
I agree Jas, but for Sky to say Jota had a below par game against Liverpool is ridiculous. I was very impressed with his movement and how he attacked and drew defenders for Jimenez.

3.) 12 Jan 2019 18:09:45
Think that was said because he was subbed; fact is, he was subbed due to first game back from hamstring injury, Nuno was saving him.

4.) 12 Jan 2019 18:18:59
Nuno always subs strikers.

5.) 13 Jan 2019 09:04:04
Jota was subbed because he was just back from injury. He was great when he was on The link up with Jimenez for the first goal as sublime. What a. partnership that could be.

The more rubbish the self-appointed experts spout about Wolves, the happier I am.

So we have officially agreed €18m for Rui Patricio - the amount originally agreed with de Carvalho before he got greedy. It's still an absolute steal for a keeper of his quality!

StattoWolf II

1.) 31 Oct 2018 20:35:27
Kepa - £75m, Alisson - £71m or Patricio - £18m. I think Chelsea and Liverpool were robbed.

Anyone else feel more confident about facing Burnley without Sean Dyche in charge? I think Burnley's owners have shot themselves in the foot with that move.

StattoWolf II

1.) 16 Apr 2022 16:50:14
This is the season Burnleys luck runs out they sacked the one person who may have kept them up.
Dyche will walk into any mid table Premier league team should a position become vacant.

2.) 16 Apr 2022 17:17:33
Yes very odd decision that one. let's see what happens, they could have someone in who is a total surprise when we play them.

3.) 16 Apr 2022 18:14:52
From what I've read there's been stuff going on all season behind the scenes being shut out of meetings etc. Garlick sold out to people who have bought the club with the clubs own money. Heavily in debt nothing to invest in thee team! You reap what you sow. Sean Dyche has been too loyal he won't be short of work. I don't see him getting a top club but I wish him well. As for Burnley I just feel sorry for the loyal fans, a club like ours steeped in football history. Sad to see but I expect them to go down and it could be a very big drop, we know because we've been there. Money men huh!

4.) 16 Apr 2022 23:35:00
Allardyce tipped to replace him. What a joke.

5.) 17 Apr 2022 18:10:44
I think Burnley wanting to change manager should of done sooner.
There enough games to stay up for Burnley but imo they risking a very lot.
Regarding our next match I think its better for us without dyche in charge but they could set up exactly the same as dyche would of done.
Confident we will beat Burnley and I base it on our last performance our players will play how they should/can and we better than Burnley.

With the way the matches have gone this week (other than West Ham who we can still overtake with our games in hand) the next 5 matches are massive in terms of where we could go this season in respect of European qualification.

I know that there are some misgivings about the lack of incoming players in January who can have an impact this season but this is an exciting opportunity for the team to stand up and be counted. Let's get behind the team and be positive.

Traore on the bench indicates that his departure isn't that close or at least as close as people think. No Raul though. not heard he was injured.

StattoWolf II

1.) 22 Jan 2022 14:16:00
Spiers saying Raul injured, others saying he has joined the Mexico squad ready for wc qualifier.
Twitter eh? lol.

2.) 22 Jan 2022 14:40:06
Fabios time to shine?

3.) 22 Jan 2022 16:07:41
Phil my up dates haven't shown on here yet but nothing much football wise 2 Brentford players collide with delay then drone over pitch stopped playing for 20 minster. Still playang end of 1st half and it's been all wolves pocession wise since restart.

4.) 22 Jan 2022 16:36:16
Goallllllllll. MoTintino great goal.

So, Klopp makes a comment regarding the ability of Paul Tierney and is not subject to a charge for making insulting remarks about a referee. Last season, Nuno made similar comments about Lee Mason, was charged and fined. Other than being Liverpool manager, what was the difference?

Big club bias yet again, on the face of it. I am getting well and truly fed up with it.

But, I want to make it clear that I actually agree with Klopp's comments and generally quite like the chap. This is in no way a swipe at him, but is a swipe at the one rule for the big 6 and another for the rest that is apparent at the Premier League and FA hierarchies.

Merry Christmas to all of the pack and to the Ed's who do a grand job. Here's to a better time in the new year.

StattoWolf II

{Ed047's Note - Merry Christmas to you too fella, have a great one!

I am getting sick to death of the so called big 6 bias. Watching the Leeds v Arsenal game how 1) was Xhaka not booked for stopping the free kick being taken and 2) 30 seconds later how does VAR conclude that his tackle on Raphinha wasn't an ankle breaker?

Its the random application of these reviews that really infuriate fans as no 2 decisions seem to be the same and the big clubs who seem to benefit from them every time.

1.) 18 Dec 2021 18:55:37
Spot on statto,I've stated it recently, the people in football just want the top teams, winning everything,no matter what,
And MONEY,is the root of all evils,
It's about time,all footballers,were paid a working man's wage,
Then we would see who's playing for
Their love of football or the money.

2.) 18 Dec 2021 19:01:22
As i've said VAR was put in place to stop other teams from breaking into the big 6.

3.) 18 Dec 2021 20:38:20
Am I right in saying,it was originally brought in to get the goal line decision right,IE the whole ball over the line, then it went berserk from their,
As far as I'm concerned, the officials are there,to implement their take on what's correct,
Just how it should be,right or wrong, and go on all say I'm living in the past

4.) 19 Dec 2021 09:29:24
Absolutely right the about posts, but nothing will change unless we as sports fans do something ie STOP GOING TO MATCHES.
STOP CONTRIBUTING TO SKY or BT SPORTS. Make them realise we have had enough, but that won't happen because we talk a lot but do nothing. There within lies a crusade for someone with the passion (like Nigel Farage love him or loath him) I love him. Sadly I'm far to old for such a crusade but I am saddened by the decline of our game cheating by players and obviously
Encouraged by managers. And money money money for the limited few, that being selected clubs, the Premier League or the FA

5.) 19 Dec 2021 13:32:14
Got rid of SKY earlier this year Norfolk mate and honestly haven't missed it one bit, I watch the games I can't get to via Peacock or NBCsports who I find are more balanced in commentary.

If it's true, then surely that is a route back into midfield for Coady.

I'd be happy with Brereton-Dias. The sort of player who has shown he can finish but provides fluidity to the forward line.

Not saying that I'd be pleased to see the back of Dendoncker if this is true, but with us switching to a back 4, does that open the door for Coady to be playing the deepest of the three midfielders behind Neves and Moutinho?

There's no need for that level of disrespect Realist. Coady has been a model pro for Wolves and the way he's been treated in being ousted doesn't sit right with me.

However, whilst we all have our opinions and frankly none of us are happy with how the club is being run at the moment, there is a level of toxicity that seems to be permeating into this site. I am pretty sure that I am not the only one who thinks this and it is not something I need in my life, especially at the moment due to a number of health issues with my family. As such, I shall he bowing out for good. To the genuine fans on here, I hope that the club turn around a worrying transfer window and prove the doubters wrong.

I don't think it matters who the officials are. After the last couple of seasons, I have no faith in the standard of refereeing in this country as being anything other than poor and inconsistent at best.

They've made a nation proud and played with a smile and no fear, it was so refreshing. Also, the game management after Kelly scored was excellent - many teams should take note.

People have been asking what role for Coady in a back four - well it looks like he might be the new Neil Emblen and play up front! (Very much tongue in cheek!)
