It is frustrating and worrying that we are still to strengthen in the areas we all know are needed.
However, what is clear the structure has changed and Lopetegui has total control of all footballing matters.
Whether Hobbs is capable of delivering signings, is a mute point.
Listened last night to Dan Ashworth, Newcastle's sporting director and thought that is the calibre we need to support Lopetegui.

2.) 11 Jan 2023 10:11:22
Hobbs Sellers Shi the group who made many mistakes that lead to us being in the relegation zone, we have got rid of Sellers and in my opinion Hobbs should have gone to. In Lopeteguis staff there is a well respected sporting director, to me it is a no brainer the club should give the footballing decisions to the proven experts and stop gambling with our future.

3.) 11 Jan 2023 12:45:54
You may have a point Baza, don't know the details but didn't Hobbs go to South America to sign up a couple of 'wonderkids', all done deals apparently? We've actually signed neither, with both going elsewhere.

So far the players were most interested in are Sako McCormack and Marshall.

It does worry me that we haven't been linked with a natural LB to compete with Doc and an Experienced CH to partner Bathh as I can't ver see Williamson lasting more than 2-3 games.

Dot Cotton

1.) 21 Dec 2016 11:38:48
Well Doc if we did get tthree 3 in I for one would be well impressed
Yep do a agree about a centre half.

2.) 21 Dec 2016 15:32:01
I would be a bit worried that we may be overloading our left flank, if Sako and Marshall were to come in, in January. Jordan's to come back and Cav is now finding his feet. Plus Sako will be away with Mali at the ACN.
Let's hope MW stays injury free, a full back we definitely need plus a box-to-box midfielder and a striker or two because Nouha is not cutting it with me.
PL will get it right. I have no doubts.
Keep the faith!

3.) 21 Dec 2016 15:33:59
And please NO McCormack or Gestede. They are worse than what we already have.

4.) 21 Dec 2016 16:42:03
This will cause whooohah but I do not see the point of bringing Sako back. We have Cav and Graham not far from a comeback so why we need 3 on the left?
Plus Marshall sounds a strong favourite to hopefully be acquired so that would make 4
I feel this is press talk like the ptrss were sending Stearman back " yeah right
We do most certainly need a centre half if not 2.

5.) 21 Dec 2016 17:08:35
Great comment Derbywolf, I cannot see why we need Sako with players we have, there are more important positions needed in our team that want looking at firstly.
A proven striker firstly and a centre half, fullback, and midfielder who can create chances are the minimum requirements if we mean business and start to get higher in league.

6.) 21 Dec 2016 17:51:36
Bournemouth are looking favourites to sign Palace outcast Bakery Sako on loan in January, with a view to a permanent deal in the summer!

7.) 21 Dec 2016 17:58:20
Whether you think we need him or not he's way better than what we've got and sometimes a player just fits right at a club and Sako is one of the few players we've had at our club in recent years who has felt like he belongs there and got people off there seats.

8.) 21 Dec 2016 18:39:54
I read that Marshall is a right back or right midfield so he wouldn't be competing with the left wingers. If McCormack isn't as good as our no scoring strikers you must think he is really crap. I hope Graham comes back quick, but having the same injury as Dicko I would find it hard to believe he will be back to his best this season.

9.) 21 Dec 2016 19:24:00
Have we all forgot Zyro he had a great impact when he came here.

10.) 21 Dec 2016 21:04:01
Was Sako that great! Relegation first season, he did stay to help win promotion from L1 and had half a good season in the championship. Disappeared for most matches after HE decided he wanted out and we did manage quite well when he was out. Not for me TBH. over valued opinion of himself in the same category as Afobe.

11.) 21 Dec 2016 22:39:36
In my opinion we need four new players. A centre back initially to partner Batth ( we need someone with pace and comfortable on the ball) and longer term to partner Iorfa (who is a much better centre back than right back) or Hause. A left back. A striker. An attacking central midfielder. I would take Sako back in a heartbeat as yes he WAS great and could win games on his own. I agree that with Cavaleiro and possibly Graham one could argue we don't need Sako but I would see him playing behind the striker in a central role, where Enobakhare played against Forest.

12.) 22 Dec 2016 00:11:54
A good player so far is the lad at wigan seen him on TV twice excellent on the ball and can run with it comfortabley cannot spell his name begins wiv W.

{Ed007's Note - Yanic Wildschut.}

13.) 22 Dec 2016 09:14:54
Agree with Ajwolf not bothered about Sako got loads left sided players, fed up of hearing we are after left sided players, need defensive players midfield creative player who can run the game and fed up of saying it every Wolves fan nows we need A NATURAL STRIKER who nows were the net is, Dicho as good player as he is still not up to is sharpness of before.

14.) 22 Dec 2016 23:26:13
Cheers ed.

14 Jan 2016 08:44:05
Wolves are close to confirming a deal for Ajax defender Nicolai Boilesen 23 yrs old can play LB or CB. Danish international and was club captain.

Dot Cotton

1.) 14 Jan 2016 09:02:06
If he was captain at Ajax why would he come to Wolves?

2.) 14 Jan 2016 09:24:17
Apparently he's been dumped into developement squad and hasn't played all season.

Ajax aren't the massive team we all remember, the Dutch league is probably no better than the championship with a couple of good teams.

That's why I think this could be true.

3.) 14 Jan 2016 09:32:06
He's refusing to sign a new contract and he's fell out of favour at Ajax it's in the telegraph.

4.) 14 Jan 2016 09:37:15
Fallen out with De Boer. Won't sign a new contract and current one expires this season. Loves a Balti pie!

5.) 14 Jan 2016 09:40:52
He's frozen out there because he refused to sign a new contract. He's been hampered by injuries.

04 Oct 2015 21:11:16
Newcastle, Norwich, Villa all still very keen to add Afobe to there ranks.

With Morgan looking to sell the club will we keep him to add value and keep the chance alive of reaching the prem?

Or will we sell and Mirgan pocket the profit?

Dot Cotton

1.) 04 Oct 2015 22:57:49
Didn't you see his reaction to scoring the first goal on Saturday? that wasnt a false badge kiss, that was raw passion. he loves wolves & morgan turned £10m down so really can't see afobe being sold. morgan got a better chance of selling the club if doing well & that means keeping afobe. only way he goes is if we get Messi - not going happen

2.) 05 Oct 2015 08:20:04
Come on yam yam really?

We're in the football world where money talks, yes he might love Wolves but its quoted he will double his wages at least. No person in there right mind no matter what job your doing would turn down a pay rise like that.

I really hope we do keep him but we will see.

Every player has a price.

3.) 05 Oct 2015 09:24:31
I do find it weird when footballers kiss the badge. Unless you supported the club as a boy, or develop a connection over years of commitment like Bully, I don't think it looks right. As the above post says, money talks, and if Wolves and Afobe are offered the right deal he will be off. I wouldn't have a go at Afobe for leaving, but kissing the badge for me is a no, no.

4.) 05 Oct 2015 12:56:09
Was it not a statement off - this is where I want be its my club my fans I don't want go anywhere I got a job to complete here at wolves or am I just a sentimental old fool full off wishful thinking

5.) 05 Oct 2015 15:44:17
We're the first club to sign him on a permanent and play him as first choice. Why shouldn't he feel part of Wolves?

6.) 05 Oct 2015 23:15:14
Afobe doesn't give me the impression that money motivates him. playing games and scoring does and he appreciates being given a chance to show his talents. if morgan is as money mad as folk say, would he not have cashed in on both sako and afobe?

Morgan didn't, so that's why i think afobe won't move and why would he go to Aston villa or the toon army who both could be in the championship next season anyway. also, villa players are told to sign contracts that they will receive 1/2 wages if villa go down, so it's not worth the risk in my opinion.

07 Sep 2015 11:42:05
Frazier Campbell and Jan Kermogrant heavily linked with loan move to us.

Both would be good signings.

Dot Cotton

1.) 07 Sep 2015 16:50:13
Third option being considered is James Wilson.

2.) 09 Sep 2015 20:00:17
there's supposedly about 20-odd teams after Wilson

3.) 09 Sep 2015 21:54:47
Still slit of decent free agents out there.

Palacios and Carlton Cole to name a few.

Anyone know what happened to Britton?

4.) 10 Sep 2015 22:44:59
I saw that Charlton Cole was a free agent last week, I'm surprised that a championship club hasn't come in for him. He would give us a different option up front with his strength and hight, has experience and most importantly, from our boards point of view, is free. Ticks all the boxes no?

4.) 08 Jul 2017 09:19:29
They have all sulked away bill train and your right the weather wad nice to!

20 Sep 2015 11:45:32
Looks like Shola Ameobi is going to be the answer.

To be honest I was at the game yesterday and it looks like the passing game has gone out the window and the long ball to Afobe was option 1, even though he never once had support.

We do NEED a big strong forward for when we adopt this style of play.

Benit was the lone forward with ALF in the hole which did NOT work. He is still putting square pegs in round holes.

Please Please Please go back to 4231 with Edwards in the hole. Please

Dot Cotton

1.) 20 Sep 2015 17:49:39
Can't see it working with coady and Edwards in centre of midfield, no creativity there as to play McDonald in one of those positions unless you play five in midfield and one up front with Edwards making runs through middle

2.) 21 Sep 2015 07:20:53
Dot I think we have to take into account the way Brighton closed us down in midfield. It was the Barcelona approach of three men on us each time we passed the ball. Alf Ben10 Edwards and Henry were trying to find space and move it quickly but we had little contribution on the left. Ojo was too deep and looked pretty lost. Standard of crossing was pretty terrible. Lots of effort and the defence is getting there but its not quite clicking through midfield.

3.) 21 Sep 2015 11:01:42
Agree victory.

Ojo brings nothing to the party, he all he does is pass the ball back to where it came from.

In regards to midfield we just don't have any movement off the ball.

Edwards does make great runs to get in behind but this then leaves a gapping hole when it breaks down, this is why we need to get back to 4231.Hooefully Price is fit soon so him Coady and Edwards in behind Afobe.

4.) 21 Sep 2015 12:10:13
No way will this team get promotion needs sorting quickly ,that midfield was terrible Afobe wasted feeding on scraps and I am on about first half when it was 11against 11we still dididn't do enough I have no idea what K.J. is doing but needs to sort it quickly

5.) 21 Sep 2015 14:55:07
Edwards out for the foreseeable. Surely this means Price and KMac in midfield, which has been a winning formula in the past. Do we call for Lee Evans? Options on the wings and probably ALF and Afobe up front, 442. Much as I would like to see 4231 it was based around Edwards but RVLP could yet fill the gap.

6.) 22 Sep 2015 19:28:20
Its Getting past a joke, this squad is worse than last year mid table at best unless he stops tinkering with side and let's them get on a winning streak again, McDonald as to come back in midfield only creative player can't keep playing coady and Edwards in midfield in my opinion together only one of them should play and with them both out tonight Wallace as to go there sako,s position as never been replaced the boy from Liverpool is not the answer done nothing Saturday cannot change things up front having not brought a player in strong enough up front to hold ball up have good players in LA Fonda and Afobe and young Bright but similer in there play ,VLP as to come back into the team as well and Henry the other player looks like we are down to the bare bones but I would choose from these players tonight for the midfield and striker positions

01 Aug 2015 12:06:48
Looks like Akpom is off to Hull.

Surely we must have been after him too. If not why not?

Dot Cotton

28 May 2015 11:09:55
Bully's recommending signing Mulumbu on a free.

I agree with him, he is the sort of midfielder we need to add steel to the middle of the park.

Dot Cotton

1.) 28 May 2015 13:43:34
Agree ideal for wolves but would we pay is wages but to get back into premier we need to get experienced players like mulumbu to play with our young players just what we need in midfield over to you Mr. Morgan and Mr moxey

2.) 28 May 2015 21:06:13
Totally agree we need a ball winning midfielder, Mulumbu would be perfect, personally I'd even have Karl Henry back on a free. I'd also be looking at Becchio following his release from Norwich, he's experienced at this level

28 Jan 2015 10:28:37
Latest player linked is a 22 year old Poland international called Zyro who plays for Warsaw. Genoa are also interested but we are in pole position.

There are a number of good players available for transfer or loan like Phillips and Hoillet to name a few.

Let's just hope we get our No1 target whoever that may be.

Steve you’re missing the point mate. Feb 1st is too late, yes we could have a great window by end of the month but we have some massive games where we need the players now. If personha hits the ground running then great but if he doesn’t we’re in big trouble.

All gone very quiet on the transfer front. Only hearing rumours about Lemina and Alcarez from Racing.

I honestly thought we had a CB and CM lined up to sign on the 1st. Isco and Felipe.

We NEED players for the Jan games can’t afford to sign players at the end or it could already be too late to get out the R zone.
