With the withdrawal of maguire from the England squad and no out and out left back surely Southgate may be considering a back three with wingbacks. With that coach must be in with a shout of a call up. What else can he do to get in the squad.

The guy has not been found innocent the charges were dropped by cps as the victim has withdrawn her evidence, nothing to do with her at the time being pregnant with his child?
There was sufficient evidence to go victimless however as this is a high profile case the cps system have folded.
The evidence available online speaks for itself, as they say no smoke without fire.
Yes he was a talent and there have been players previously who have had careers for worse including murder, however with the high media presence he should never play professionally again. I know he is young but how can he ever be seen as a role model and an icon of any club?

The way he has been conducting himself I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s got another job lined up or trying to disrupt the Apple cart to put himself in contention for the spurs job.

I wonder if the acceptance of the lower fee was out of respect for Doherty and his loyal service over the past 10 years. On hearing interest from Tottenham offered him a new challenge at a time in his career where he had one big move left. Wolves could of demanded more money and dragged out the deal but would have left us with an unhappy player whose head had been turned.

Despite the size of arsenal there finds are complicated as outlined above with the Pepe transfer. I cannot see them wanting to pay compensation for a manager plus wages on top when there are options available on the free. I wouldn’t be surprised if we have the usual loan to buy policy that worked so well recently. Allows Nuno to see if the player fits the team and his style With less financial risk.
