Well Benik has aired his disappointment being let go by Nuno.

He's not done too bad, from sitting on Bournemouth's bench to helping Wolves gain promotion of promised land.

But that's where his bacon is, the EFL .
Stoke have been spending like they mean business, so to be part of it at a level will prob score 20+ goals.

Wish you well Benik, but know where you will thrive.

Benik has every right to be angry. He was basically lied to. I know it's business and all that but I had a similar experience with my last employer - saying one thing to me but actually doing a different deal elsewhere.

It's obvious Wolves knew they could pocket £2m by treating Benik like a used car. Benik will do well with Stoke, and he's picking up a good salary. But I would prefer it if the club I support doesn't go around p***ing people off. Not Wolves people anyway.

I’m sympathetic to both Benik and Barry - both committed Wolves. I don’t like the concept of treating players like lumps of meat. There will be consequences with the others.

You don't think both cases were about attitude by any chance?

I have no sympathy with Mercenary footballers who cry foul when they consider themselves hard done by, and it's not as if Afobe has been thrown out of work either is it?

How can you expect players to be loyal when this stuff happens. Wallobby mentions attitude but all I saw was total commitment on the pitch from Benik and BARRY. I guess I’m old fashioned but I want WWFC to be differentiated from the rest.
Anyway it’s done now so all the best those guys. Mind you if they sell Cav I will be well pissed off.

There was no loyalty from Afobe when he engineered the move to Bournemouth.
Let's get things into context here, Afobe was going to warm the bench and Douglas had a bust up with Nuno.
In the past it would have been brushed aside but in Nuno we have a manager who won't stand for it.
Long may it continue in my opinion.

I agree with North Bank. I don't know the details about Barry only what's been posted here. I don't know about Benik's attitude Wollaby - please tell.

I have no doubt it was good business from Wolves. We were surprised he was offered a contract in the first place, until we found out why. Perhaps Afobe was gullible enough to believe he was wanted as a team member. But surely in any team there has to be trust? I hope other players at Wolves with options to buy have been forewarned.

C'mon lads let's get real here, most modern players just want it all there own way and go crying off to twitter when its not so, just pathetic! Benik dropped us like a lead balloon when he got the first chance but can't take it when its the other way round?! Yes its a brutal business but its also one where EVERYONE involved in it makes more in a year than we will in a decade so cry me a river! Speaking of earning you say about the £2m we 'pocketed' Euro but what about Benik, he's just got a sizeable signing on fee then will be able to renegotiate an even bigger one after banging in a few goals come Jan! So I reckon between the two fees the 'poor lad' will probably pocket about as much as the club! Also we've only sold him to Stoke, not like we packed him off up north he won't even have to move!
People speak of loyalty but anyone remember Kightly? We gave that lad a contract plus wage rise whilst he was on a physio table, which he stayed on for most of his contract. Then when we got relegated he was straight off to Stoke and didn't give a second look back! I mean we'd pretty much made that lad between the signing from Grays and the YEARS he spent on the physio table but did that matter if he could keep himself in the Prem?! Was Benik really any different?
On a side note I notice Howes been out today hailing how we are doing business, would suggest there's no love lost there either as that came out not long after Beniks piece! We'll never know if he did have an attitude problem but the fact is he fell out with the club before and didn't seem to get on with Howe either, well smoke and fire springs to mind!
Also this notion that it will put off other footballers is nonsense, its just the modern game and the players know it better than anyone (cause it suits them most of the time)! If they are good enough they will stay, if they are not then they won't. If they are REALLY good they will go as well and also not look back its just how the modern game works! On wards and upwards COYW ;)

I don't feel sorry for ANY modern day footballers. They earn a fortune, a lottery win each season. Even the unfortunate ones that get a bad injury will make a load more in their shortened careers than you or I make in a decade or more.
I do feel sympathy for the past players who, in my opinion, actually worked harder for their pay and got paid peanuts compared to the players of today, and they had more loyalty and moral fibre than 99% of today's players.
