1) why would Bournemouth sell at 12 million asset for free?
2) there was rumours that Howe was reluctant to let Afobe go because he rates him highly.

This rumours page is getting boring now.

Soon have to create an extra page on here for “Slagging off Afobe” as it’s neither “Banter or “Rumour”. apart from Kane and Aguero who would people take from top Prem clubs? Lacazette? Martial? Welbeck? Moratta? Lukaku? . at least give the lad a chance to prove you all wrong!

Overrated. Past it. Every one of them.
(not being serious)

Seriously, though, we're not yet in the league for big signings. Good mid-table clubs like Everton probably won't be signing any of those players because their wage demands are so high, even if the transfer fee is affordable. They signed Rooney but I bet many here would say he's past it too.

Leicester, probably a good comparator for us, frequently sign players we haven't heard of rather than big earners. So it will be scouting the Portuguese, Spanish and French leagues for up and coming players who can't break into the first team for us. I'd take more like Neves, Jota and Boly without hesitation.

Good post Euroman. I think a bit of a reality check is needed by some. It's great being linked with big names but for the most part, to get any of them will take a massive leap of faith because we aren't an established Premier League side yet.

With regards Afobe, Nuno wouldn't have agreed to sign him if he didn't feel that he could improve him. Look at Coady and Doherty, they have come on massively under Nuno. During his loan spell, Afobe was building up his match fitness and adapting his game to a different style and a different role from what he used to play. With that under his belt and a pre-season, let's judge him on his future performances. Nuno obviously trusts him, so we should too.

And with regards to this rubbish about selling him immediately after signing him (the Stoke rumours), there are two things to consider; firstly, we do not need to penny pinch to get a small, quick profit anymore, so unless Nuno thinks he's got it wrong after a couple of days, then there is no sense in buying and immediately selling. Secondly, Afobe would have to agree to a transfer out, it's not just the hierarchy saying he'd have to go. If he turned round and said "No, I've just signed my contract and I want to fight for my place" he has every right. Given the fuss he made about coming back, even if these ridiculous rumours were true, I'd be amazed if he went.

Just consider if we did sell Afobe in those circumstances, who would want to come to Wolves if they were treated like that? No player would trust management and it would destroy everything that has been built over the last 12 months. We'd be no better than that idiot at Sporting (whom I am really angry at for slagging off our club as not being honest! )

Let's do things the right way - we are Wolves!

I disagree on a few points. Football is all about team spirit or the wolf pack.
Players that shone last season that were British and wolves fans didn’t know what to expect and a slot cheaper than the european imports:
Coady (2m), Douglas (1m), ruddy (free), Bennett (free)
Not to mention the academy players that played a role such as batth, Doherty, bright (won us a couple of games against hull and Barnsley) and MGW.
But there is a new found trust in the football side of the club.
