I have to ask the question. are peeps still desperate for us to sign Benik at the end of the season? Still looks a shadow of the player we sold to me. Really thought he would shine by coming back to the Champ but for me I'm just not seeing it! Thoughts?

I agree looked average. I Think he knows he is not going to be signed,

Not good enough by the looks of things. pity, all concerned should move on.

I wouldn't mind Afobe signing full time. I'm sure that given a pre season with any other new signings we make Will benefit him. We also need another striker too. Someone like Charlie Austin if Southampton go down or Danny Ings. I'd also like to see us make a move for Fraser Forster as he doesn't seem to get a look in nowadays at Southampton.

I don’t think that afobe is really what nuno wants. He remains to static and always tries to play off the last man. His link up play is often poor. Last night he simplied didn’t move around enough to create space.
When we are a premier league club I suspect that Fosun will want a bigger name up front and probably sign Leo as back up.

52, I agree with you in general but if Afobe can pick up say 6 goals over the remaining games then he may get signed. He needs to prove himself as an impact player.

52,
That's exactly it, Afobe isn't what Nuno wants he is not a Nuno type player which is fair enough but a petty he couldn't of had more game time to prove he can still do it but then again can we afford to try things out this late in the season.
I will be surprised if Afobe gets the opportunity to sign full time.
I was happy to see him sign in January without thinking if he would fit our new system. Least one thing though he doesn't need a second invite to shoot.

He's been OK. If we're serious about a long stint in the PL we probably need someone better, though. Nuno will have his own ideas. He got Coady right when we said he wasn't good enough.

I also think Fabio Coentrao will be joining us in the summer. Free agent, bags of experience, Mendes client and still young enough (30) to make a difference.

afobe went missing at boro and last night seemed off the pace looks more like the player we sold than the player that lit up the championship / on another note we will have to sign at least 5 or six players to stay up next season I can only name 3 that are definitely good enough at the moment (boly/ neves/ jiota) looking forward to seeing who umr mendes can find us!

I find it strange when comments of not good enough and average are used for a man who has only started 3 games yet scored 3 goals in those games. The problem is Nuno never wanted him and hasn't utilised him enough from the start. 3 wingers doesn't work and Bonatini is done for this season.

A fluid front 3 doesn’t work. have you seen Spain play a game lately?

I agree we haven't seen enough of Afobe and he has good and bad games like all players I don't know why Bonatini has lost his spark either.

Mutiny, didn't realise you wouldn't understand that my comments are relating to the Wolves ream only being as we are on a Wolves rumour site. To bring up a national team with the quality of Spain in a conversation about Wolves is very naive.

I think Afobe has been alright, mainly when neves is playing without him, he looks isolated. It shows how much we need another player like neves in our midfield, for me I feel like Saiss is a holding midfielder, who just likes to play deep, and N’Diaye is more of a attacking midfielder, who likes to get in the box! I personally would take Afobe over Bonatini because Afobe is something different, a change of tactics that we have been screaming for over the past couple of months! I think that signings wise, we don’t need as many players as people think. Only another RWB, Striker and Midfielder come to mind. What you have to remember is that we still have Hause who needs to be played more. Also I still wanna see what Phil Ofosu-Ayeh is like before judging him!

No!

Any signing should bring improvement and/ or a dimension to add to the team, that should play in the Premier League. If we were to stay in the Championship then maybe.

Maybe he has been unlucky with our expectation and style.

I don’t think that Nuno will b signing Afobe or bonatini just not good enough bonatini scored 12 goals earlier in the season but missed just as many some of them easy chances wol and Nuno will b aiming much higher.

Amid the great performances against Cardiff, I thought Afobe did well. He tracked back and linked up. Good all round from him. His job was to blunt the physical stuff from the Cloggers early on. This allowed Costa and Cav to come on later to open up Cardiff. Bonatini was more anonymous and shame he didn't convert from that tight angle, but credit for getting the chance. Of the two I think Afobe will stay.

Jas - Don't get me wrong, I think Charlie Austin and Danny Ings are reasonably good footballers but I'm not sure if you realise just how bonkers Fosun are going to go with the chequebook this summer. I honestly believe that the likes of that pair would be lucky to be regulars on our subs bench let alone anything else. Nuno will bring 5 or 6 genuinely top class performers - Far superior to Austin and Ings. With all due respect.
