So what! We let him go because he wasn't good enough. Never look back.

No doubt he will carry on scoring. to slow once again unless he not good enough. but with our budget would of been a good signing as he does what he's paid to do.

Huh he wasn't good enough or wolves staff made a mistake? he's scoring goals for fun. you can't be to proud mate when your struggling at the bottom half of the league.

Wednesfield, I may be wrong here but did anyone say at the time we released him that we were making a mistake or did we all think that there was no way that the 22 year old who had been loaned out to 4 lower league sides and failed to prove himself would get into the team ahead of Steven Fletcher, Kevin Doyle and Sylvan Ebanks Blake.

Jas M I read your comment's a lot on here and to be honest you are the one who says don't bring up the past. You mention Winnall wasn't good enough, he obviously is now. Can you remember the last time one of our strikers scored? Winnall has a hat full and will continue to score. You also mentioned the OLD strikers we had, you mean Steve "the traitor" Fletcher, Kevin "5 goals in 5 seasons" Doyle and fatty ebanks. Why not go all the way back to Steve "20 goals a season" bull and Andy "perfect strike partner" mutch. We NEED a striker and a striker that can score, Winnall would have been great for us regardless whether he had played for us as a youth or not! Yet another bargain slipped through our fingers.

If 'Another one slips through the net' is the argument then why don't we save our money and just persist with Enokobahare, Bodvarsson, Dicko and Joe Mason who are all younger than Winnall. Bodvarsson is class, Mason has scored at this level, Dicko will find his form again and Bright is the future.

7.) 13 Jan 2017
13 Jan 2017 07:38:42
Bright playing centre midfield? Bod may be quality but doesn't score, Dicko is a shadow of himself and doesn't score, Mason is busy but doesn't score. You can't go through a season with 5 goal a season strikers and rely on Edwards and Costa to get the goals. We either need to play 4-4-2 with bright or Mason playing off Bod or get a class striker that can play up front on his own and still score

Pompey, the point is that Winnall didn't score when he was here before so we let him go. Should we do the same to the players I mention then complain in 5 years time how we made a mistake.

I get that jas but you can't keep looking at what players did before. He has obviously improved and scores goals. I love bright and he has to play up front or he is wasted. Ennis will be great too. What I'm saying is we need to be competitive and we can't do that if our strikers don't score.

13 Jan 2017 10:11:34
You guys are right Winnall didn't score for the first team mainly because he didn't play for the first team. I seem to remember though for the under 23s or whatever it was he was constantly scoring.
He left because he was not offered a decent contract.

Price is off to Bastia on loan

Pompey for manager he obviously knows it all

Sam grew up in my village vile attitude which is why he was moved on from Wolves another primadonna NOT what we want going forward.

13 Jan 2017 11:30:23
Wolves till I die, it's just my opinion as others have theirs. Our strikers aren't doing the business so surely we need to look at that area just like our defence leaks too many goals. We don't have to spend millions to get decent players. Let's get some of the deadwood off the payroll and improve on what we currently have

Let Lambert carry on what he is doing, seams to be getting it all right at the moment, we have to face facts that it is going to take time to sort this lot out and I have to say Lambert is like a bit of fresh air at the moment with is team selections as he as surprised everybody me included.

One things for sure if there good enough they are old enough in Lamberts opinion and they will start, okay we do need some players of experience to go with the players we have and Lambert nows that he is not stupid, you have to agree Wolves fans we are slowly getting there and we don't want to get into panic buying just for the sake of it and waste more money on average players.

I have to say I am enjoying the ride again we look more organised and the sooner we climb up the league the better.
Come on you Wolves we can beat the Villa do it for Lambo.

Wolves011, how have you read a story about Oniangue potentially moving on loan and then mistaken him for Jack Price?

17.) 13 Jan 2017
13 Jan 2017 12:29:11
Pompeywolf, you are absolutely correct of course with your comments about strikers. we need a couple of quality tried and tested that can do that. Strike that is, actually score goals regularly. This is what makes the difference between an also ran team and one that's going places. They cost money and as each season goes by more and more. So the logical conclusion has to be search them out and get them. Now that is! Not easy I know! But we need to go get them. Costa has to be a priority because he has what it takes in this league and I have no doubt the premier league too. We can't just rely on our wingers and DE can we? 😉👍

WolvesayWe91 you may have been right about his attitude but from all accounts he was offered a contract but turned it down because it was a pretty low one.

Wolves011, I read the newsnow article and I thought it said Oniangue was moving on loan to Bastia. Guess I was wrong.
